13.10.2006 The round 15th and 16th of the All Japan F3 Championship was held up in Sugo. The race track is an old cirquit in the middle of the mountains and forrests. Adrian knew this track a little bit from his GT Test in June.
The first free practice session was on thursday. As there was no test before all drivers had the opportunity to learn the cirquit and setup the car one more day.
The condition was rainy. Sometimes more and sometimes less. Adrian was straight up fastest on the track. After changing setup he improved always his laptimes. In the end of the day Adrian was able to do a very quick lap and was clear on P1 with 8th to the second placed.
On friday it was dry. The setup in dry condition wasnt perfect. Adrian had a few problems. The biggest problem was the understeering which cost him a lot of time.
However he finished 2nd on this day.
For the qualifying Adrian didnt changed so much of the car setup. In the first session he had a lot of problems. The car was completely different to drive. He couldnt do more than a 5th place. In the second one he could improve only one position. A dissapointing 4th place for sundays grid.
The first race was in dry condition. Adrian had a good start and could gain one position. After following a few laps Roberto Streit and try to push him into a mistake, he could pass him in the 2nd last corner and save a 3rd place . Adrian could achieve the fastest lap too.
on sunday it was raining. Adrian started from 5th place. Unluckily the stewards decided to to a safety car start. So it was difficult to make some positions at the start.
With a very quick reaction of Adrian, he was able to pass his teammate for the first corner. Then he put Roberto Streit under pressure until this one made a mistake. Adrian was on 2nd position and gaining half a second a lap to the leader Fabio Carbone.
The race was only a few more laps to go and Adrian wasnt able to pass Carbone anymore. A 2nd place for the german Toms Driver including a fastest lap again. Now Adrian is very close to the title. The last race will take place in Motegi. There he won already one race and he has the track record too.
